The Law of Forced Efficiency states: "There's never enough time to do everything, but there's always enough time to do the most important things." Your ability to be successful in your life will depend in large portion on your ability to identify the most important task to perform right now. And then to get to work doing that task, and only that task, until it is complete. In order to help you find that most important task, use these Four Great Questions: 1. Before you start on anything, always ask yourself "What is going to be the most important thing for me to do right now?" 2. Next ask yourself, "Why am I on the payroll?" "What can I do that will most determine my success?" 3. What tasks do you do, when done right, make a significant difference? 4. What is the one item, right now, that would be the most valuable use of your time? The answers to each of these questions will tell you exactly what you need to work on at the moment. You should be focusing on these tasks all day long. Get input from your boss and co-workers about these answers to these questions. If you aren't absolutely clear on the answers to these questions, you won't be working on the right things. Where to Go From Here 1. Make you To Do list for the day. 2. For everything you need to do, ask yourself the Four Great Questions: 3. Take your most important task and begin work immediately. Don't stop until it is complete.
