Do you Care Enough to Keep Trying so you can Succeed?

By: Cheryl A. Clausen

Are you trying to find a path to instant success? You have a burning desire to succeed and you want it yesterday plus you want it without any challenges or obstacles getting in your way. How realistic is that? It just doesn't work that way no matter what anyone else tells you. Succeed springs from a valuable idea that improves the lives of others. But an idea alone won't take you to success. You have to have persistence to turn you idea into a reality.

Persistence is born from your burning desire to succeed. You have to want it badly enough to care deeply enough to continue in spite of all the challenges you will face. Unfortunately there are many marketers who successfully prey on the people who want something for nothing.

You're excited because you have a great idea that you know can succeed, but when things get tough will you want to get that success badly enough to do the things you'll have to do? Your persistence is directly proportional to the intensity of your desire. You will find a way around any obstacle thrown at you and keep going if your desire is strong enough. Don't be like countless others who have given up just short of success. There are all kinds of reasons for giving up that sound really valid like: you run out of money, you don't have the support of the people around you, or you just can't go on any longer because you're spent. Persistence will drive you to find a way to get the money you need, will get help to identify the people you need, and you will continue even though you're exhausted because you'll know you're almost there.

If you aren't persistence you have a weakness. It's a weakness that can be overcome through action. Action leads to action and the more actions you take the more persistent you become.

Failures are often your greatest gifts because they help you to discover new solutions. Failures are really nothing more than temporary defeat. The only way you can truly fail is to give up. You can't achieve success if you allow yourself to fail because you lack the persistence to back up your desire.

If you feel your persistence weakening, stop and review the facts. Recall why you want to succeed and what that would mean for you. Identify the one most important next action and then take that action. Fortify your persistence through action.
