Patrick Combs is a comedic entertainer, inspirational speaker, and the best-selling author of Major in Success. To him, passion, gifts and joy are inseparable. To go on and on for years doing something you don't truly enjoy will make you sick. Following your passions will bring you pure joy. Obviously Patrick Combs has had many successes in his life. How did he do it? One step at a time. He'll be the first to tell you that concentrating on too many things at once will produce failure. You have to reach one passion at a time, making it a building block for the next. It all comes down to fear and faith. Fear is thinking something bad might happen without having proof of it. Faith is the opposite. Faith is hoping something will happen without having proof of it. Easier said than done? Yes, it's true. Taking things one step at a time and having faith in yourself is hard. Patrick Combs knows this all too well. He once had too many "shoulds" in the way as well. We all have our "shoulds" - things we don't really feel like doing but that need to be done. We all daydream about our passions while doing something mundane. Taking things one step at a time means putting your "should" priorities in order. Week by week, prioritize your "shoulds." There are always things you think you should be doing that you don't really need to be doing. They're either not important or they're things someone else could be doing. Start at the bottom of your priority list and replace one of your "shoulds" with something you'd really like to be doing. Each week, replace another one. In no time your life will be full of passions rather than cluttered with "shoulds". Your inner self makes prioritizing your "shoulds" harder than it should be. We all deal with insecurities, obstacles, fierce hardships, and doubts. When we get past those, we're unstoppable! Patrick Combs coaches people through the insecure inner self and transforms them into the successful inner self. Did someone point out your failures today? Did someone tell you to get your head out of the clouds? If so, I bet you're going to bed feeling like a quitter. Patrick Combs is one coach who'll tell you to "sleep on it". If you wake up still feeling like a quitter, still listening to that doubtful voice in your head, you're probably not concentrating on your passions. If, however, you wake up ready to give your passions another try, you have the heart of a champion and can overcome adversities. Keep a journal. It sounds simple, but Patrick Combs used a journal to get through his insecurity before becoming a successful comedic entertainer. Of course you're not going to want to write down the negative comments people make about your efforts. You should write down the things you want to remember and dwell on. Read them everyday. Use them to boost your confidence, and don't give up. If you want to live life with passion, live today passionately. The path to your passions is a roller coaster ride. Patrick Combs rode the roller coaster for three years before becoming a successful comedian. Just remember, the only opinion that matters is yours.
